Are you the single evergreen in a forest of aspen?

SELF IMAGE, DEPRESSION AND DISORDERS IT CAN CAUSE

Standard

Fall_Colors_at_Kebler_Pass,_Colorado_USAMy life has once again been changed by the realization that our self image can destroy the most beautiful and adorable people. Others may see this confident, radiate person but inside they are dying in pain. They see themselves as fat and unattractive. It’s strange that they can mask it so well. Always smiling, acting like nothing ever bothers them but in truth they are aching in pain.  We live in an area that is predominately white skinned, blond haired barbies.  The girls are tall and thin.  A group of girls legs look like an aspen forest.  Tall, thin and white.  So if your the only evergreen in the forest you don’t feel like you fit in.  Yet being different is what makes life interesting.  I have tried to live by the law that we are all equal.  No matter our color, size, age, economic status, education, occupation, area we live, gender.  We are all human with the same basic make up. May we cherish our diversity, not judge others for being different, reach out to someone today. It could be a smile, a simple hello, helping someone in the grocery store line. Returning a grocery cart for someone as you enter the store, a quick text of encouragement.  We never know who needs a lift.
