The links below allow you to learn more about the 12 Step Addiction Recovery Program in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous. I know personally what a powerful life changing program 12 Step has to offer. I have seen the recovery process within my own friends and family. Sobriety is possible. I have watched so many people struggle with addictions to narcotics, alcohol, food, or pornography. I’ve attended the addiction recovery meetings. I can testify of the love and support that is available through these meetings. I have read and studied the 12 Step Addiction Recovery manual. These steps are God inspired. Bill Wilson and Dr. Bob Smith who wrote the 12 step program were inspired men. So many peoples lives have been changed because of the contribution of these two men. Another important aspect of recovery is the process of picking a sponsor. A sponsor becomes a great support for the addict. I have seen the love and dedication of a sponsor to support the addict through the recovery process. Another valuable tool is the 24 hour hotline. These individuals volunteer because they care about strangers and their recovery. I know these sponsors and hotlines are there to help support people when in time of need, no matter what time of day or night it may be. I know that putting your loved ones recovery as a top priority is important but don’t think you have to do it alone. Keeping others identity private is essential in the recovery support groups. Addicts and family members need to know that everything they share in the meetings will remain private. We should not judge those who are struggling with addiction and reach out to those in need with love and support. The 12 Step Addiction Recovery Program has general addiction meetings and pornography meetings. They also offer meetings for spouses or family members who need support. If you live in a rural area or have some limitation to attend a meeting in person you can attend the phone in meetings. Take the first step and check out the websites. Find a meeting that is close to you. Make a plan to attend a meeting. Begin your recovery.
